Long Island Man Live Streams Himself Drunk Driving

Description:

A 33-year-old Oyster Bay man recorded himself driving drunk early Sunday morning and authorities were able to track him down after watching the live video, State Police said.

According to police, the New York State Police Communications Section in Farmingdale began to receive multiple calls reporting an erratic operator on the westbound Ocean Parkway in Nassau County around 1 a.m.

The driver, later identified as Ahmed A. Almalki, used the live video streaming app "Periscope," to broadcast himself in an apparent intoxicated condition while operating his Lexus, police sad.

State Police dispatchers took the initiative to log on, identify, and view the live stream, police said.

The dispatcher and the troopers were able to use the video feed to determine the approximate location of the Lexus, which was still driving on Ocean Parkway, police said.
